Supporting staff, service providers, researchers and partners to better understand and address issues related to improving care for people with mental health and substance use needs.
These rounds are intended to be a forum that will:
- Follow the evidence and ensure topics are informed by those we serve through ongoing engagement with people with lived/ living experience
- Share current and emerging evidence that has the capacity to improve care and advance practice within mental health and substance use across the province
- Identify and address system-level issues that are barriers to people with mental health and substance use issues having their needs met
- Engage interdisciplinary teams across our provincial mental health and substance use system in learning together and facilitate knowledge exchange of mental health and substance use programs and practices across the province

February 15 2024: The role of genetics in psychosis; a closer look at the MAGERS (Metabolic and Genetic Explorations in Refractory Schizophrenia) Study . Speakers: Dr. Robert Stowe, Clinical Professor, Psychiatry and Neurology, University of British Columbia, and physician Provincial Assessment Centre (BCMHSUS); Prescilla Carrion, MSc., Research Genetic Counsellor, University of British Columbia.
