Family support group

Helping a loved one who is struggling with a mental health or substance use issue can be extremely difficult.

The family support  group offers support, a safe place to share experiences, and insights into navigating the mental health system.

The support group offers care and support to family members and loved ones of patients at any of BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services' facilities , as well as a safe space to share your experiences. The group meets every third Monday at The Burnaby Centre for Mental Health and Addiction and is run by and for family members who have loved ones struggling with mental illness and substance use. By connecting with one another we find much needed support and understanding.

If you are a family member or support person for a past or present client of one of these services:

  • Burnaby Centre for Mental Health and Addiction
  • Heartwood Centre for Women
  • Coast Rehab and Recovery
  • Ashnola at the Crossing
You are very welcome to take part in the support group, either in person or via phone.

The support group meets on the third Monday of each month (except holidays) from 6:30p.m. to 8:00p.m.
